UIDAI extends deadline for free online Aadhaar update. The new extended date is June 14, 2027. Earlier that deadline was June 14, 2026. Now it has been extended by one year.

What kind of updates can be made?

It is known that those who want to upload documents as proof of their identity and address can do so through the MyAadhaar portal. UIDAI is asking those who have not updated their documents for a long time to update them as necessary. But it is good to say that this facility i.e. free update is only available online.

How to update for free?

First go to MyAadhaar portal. Log in there. For this you need to give your Aadhaar number and OTP. You can go to the portal and upload the document by going to ‘Address Update’, ‘Document Update’. But keep in mind that the size of your uploaded file should not exceed 2 MB.

But keep in mind, not everything can be updated online. Namely – Biometric updates like fingerprint, photo, mobile number update, gender identity update and date of birth update. These are not part of the free update.
Incidentally, Aadhaar documents need to be updated regularly. Aadhaar is very important for verification of government schemes, banking services and any other kind of documents. Users sometimes face problems due to outdated information. Aadhaar update is considered very important due to such difficulties.

Meanwhile, it has been rumored for months that UIDAI is thinking of changing the Aadhaar card soon after the launch of the new Aadhaar app. Rumor has it that the new Aadhaar card will remove all personal information, including name, address, date of birth and the 12-digit Aadhaar number. However, there has been no official announcement regarding this yet.
