According to Ujjain's astrologer Pt. Praveen Dwivedi, the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha Adhik month will start from 05:10 am on Tuesday, May 26, which will continue till 06:21 am on Wednesday, May 27. It is not auspicious to fast on Ekadashi coinciding with Dashami Tithi, hence the fast of Padmini Ekadashi will be observed on 27th May coinciding with Dwadashi Tithi.

According to scholars, it is necessary to perform Parana on the next day of the fast, only then one gets its full results. While the fast of Padmini Ekadashi will be observed on 27th May, its Parana will be observed on the second day i.e. 28th May, Thursday. The Muhurat of Paran will be from 05:25 to 07:56 in the morning. That means devotees will get 2 hours 31 minutes time to break the fast.

- One day before Padmini Ekadashi, i.e. on Tuesday night, 26th May, eat satvik food and follow celibacy. On 27th May, Wednesday, wake up early in the morning, take bath etc. and resolve to fast.
- Follow the rules of fasting throughout the day. That means, do not lie to anyone, do not get angry at anyone. Clean the place where worship is to be done and purify it by sprinkling Ganga water or cow urine.
- In any auspicious time mentioned above, place a wooden plate at the place of worship and install the idol of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi on it and start the worship. Apply tilak to the idol of God and garland it.
- Light a lamp of pure ghee. After this, offer things like kumkum, rice, roli, abeer, gulal, flowers etc. one by one to God. Keep chanting the mantra Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevay Namah in your mind.
- Offer food to God as per your wish, keep basil leaves in it. Perform Aarti of God as per rituals with family. Don't sleep at night, do bhajan-kirtan.
Next morning, feed the Brahmins and perform Parana by giving them Dakshina. In this way, by fasting on Padmini Ekadashi, there will be happiness and prosperity in life and every kind of happiness will also be found in life.
