The black Vision Pro leak has officially captured the tech community’s attention, revealing new images of all-black components that suggest a massive stylistic overhaul could be on the horizon. Just as industrial tracking circles began shifting focus away from spatial computing headsets, these newly emerged parts bring older black prototype rumours back into the spotlight.
While Apple’s premium headset originally debuted exclusively in a silver aluminum shell, this ongoing component trail points directly to unreleased variations that could fundamentally redefine the aesthetic of the premium line.
This is not the first time rumours of a black Vision Pro have popped up online, kind of again and again, though. Back in 2025, multiple leaks suggested Apple was testing darker finishes for its spatial computing headset.
Some reports even claimed dark blue cables and black connector components believed to be tied to unreleased Vision Pro prototypes. At the time, lots of people figured Apple probably just tried alternative finishes during early product development, then later settled on launching the headset in silver.
A black Vision Pro would actually fit quite well design-wise, which is a bit surprising at first. The current Vision Pro has a silver aluminium outside with grey fabric materials, plus darker glass. At the same time, the broader mixed reality market itself remains relatively niche. While Vision Pro received praise for display quality, spatial computing features, eye tracking, and immersive media experiences, the ecosystem still lacks the mass market momentum Apple likely hoped for during launch.
Some speculation suggests the darker components could belong to a future Vvision Pro refresh rather than a fully redesigned second-generation headset. Apple already updated Vision Pro hardware once, by moving from the M2 chip to the M5 platform, while also improving comfort and performance- things.
