Ibrahima Konate is reportedly evaluating proposals from four different clubs as he prepares to end his stint with Liverpool.
The French centre-back is expected to depart Anfield as a free agent after failing to finalise a new contract with the club. Negotiations between Konate and Liverpool have officially broken down, confirming his exit on a free transfer.
Real Madrid had earlier shown interest in securing Konate’s signature but decided to step back during the winter window. The Spanish giants reportedly withdrew their pursuit out of respect for their relationship with Liverpool, particularly after tensions arose following the move for Trent Alexander-Arnold last summer.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid could revisit their interest now that Konate’s contract discussions with Liverpool have collapsed.
Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also believed to be in the race for the 27-year-old defender, who has made 183 appearances for the Reds over five seasons.
Barcelona, who are intent on strengthening their defence this summer, view Konate as a prime target. The Catalan club is also investing heavily in their pursuits of Anthony Gordon and Julian Alvarez, with both players high on their transfer wishlist.
Reports suggest that Barcelona are close to finalising a deal with Newcastle United for Gordon worth £69 million, while they have also tabled an opening bid of approximately £85 million for Atletico Madrid striker Alvarez.
