Manchester United have reportedly been presented with a significant opportunity to bring in Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga, according to fresh reports from Spain.

The Red Devils are in the midst of preparing an extensive midfield overhaul this summer, with Casemiro’s departure already confirmed and Manuel Ugarte expected to follow in similar fashion. The club’s main transfer target remains Elliot Anderson, though the Nottingham Forest and England midfielder is believed to favour a move to Manchester City. Nevertheless, United plan to make a “serious push” to secure the 23-year-old’s signature.

In addition to Anderson, United have shortlisted several other options in the Premier League, including Sandro Tonali, Caros Baleba, Mateus Fernandes, and Adam Wharton. Meanwhile, a potential move for Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni is also being considered as part of their midfield reinforcement strategy.

However, Tchouameni’s compatriot Eduardo Camavinga has now emerged as another key target. The 23-year-old has faced a challenging season in the Spanish capital and could be open to a new challenge.

Manchester United had previously attempted to sign Camavinga in 2021 while he was still with Rennes in Ligue 1, but the Frenchman opted for a move to Real Madrid, sealing a £34.4 million transfer deal at the time.

Now, five years later, INEOS are reportedly keen on reviving that earlier interest by bringing Camavinga to Old Trafford, even if only on a loan basis.

Despite receiving criticism from Real Madrid supporters for his red card during their Champions League quarter-final defeat to Bayern Munich, Camavinga remains committed to staying at the Santiago Bernabeu.

From Real Madrid’s perspective, the club could be willing to consider a sale in order to generate funds for their own midfield rebuild, with Manchester City star Rodri said to be a dream signing for club president Florentino Perez.

Nevertheless, the Spanish giants still acknowledge Camavinga’s immense talent and adaptability, as he can also operate effectively at left-back. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, this understanding has led the club to consider a temporary loan arrangement instead of a permanent transfer.

The Italian publication reports that Real Madrid are “open to a loan,” with Juventus currently “working” on a potential deal. Turkish champions Galatasaray are also interested, but Manchester United are seen as capable of presenting a far stronger offer than either rival club.

If Camavinga is made available, even on loan, United are expected to reignite their pursuit of the French international, having previously cooled their interest due to his firm stance on staying at Real Madrid.

Such a move could allow Camavinga to rediscover his best form at Old Trafford before returning to Madrid as a more complete player. For United, it would represent an astute piece of business—strengthening their weakest area with a world-class addition without a major financial outlay. In essence, it could prove to be a rare mutually beneficial deal in top-level football.
