Mikel Arteta is ready to commit his long-term future to Arsenal after a landmark season in which the Gunners finally lifted the Premier League title again. Although the campaign ended in heartbreak with a Champions League final loss on penalties to Paris Saint-Germain, the North London side are moving promptly to secure their manager’s continued leadership.

Arsenal to offer title-winning coach new deal

The club is preparing to hand Arteta a highly rewarding new contract following his success in guiding Arsenal to their first Premier League championship since the legendary ‘Invincibles’ season of 2003-04. The management at the Emirates Stadium considers Arteta the central figure in their long-term project and wants to eliminate any doubts about his future before the off-season begins.

According to TEAMtalk, internal discussions have already taken place involving sporting director Andrea Berta and the club’s ownership. With the dressing room unified and the team’s performance trajectory on the rise, Arsenal are prioritising consistency in their managerial setup.

Negotiations to progress swiftly before pre-season

With the domestic season now over, talks are expected to gather pace. Football journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Arsenal and Arteta are “in conversations,” with further high-level meetings planned in the coming days. The aim is to finalise the agreement quickly so that full attention can shift to an ambitious summer transfer window where the club could invest up to £300 million in new signings.

Transfer expert Graeme Bailey added: “Sources have told us they firmly believe the new deal will be completed before the start of the season. In fact, the club would like everything finalised before pre-season training begins.”

Arteta devoted to Arsenal’s North London vision

Despite previous interest from several European heavyweights, including Real Madrid, Arteta appears entirely focused on the project he has built at Arsenal. Reports suggest he is extremely satisfied with the support he has received from the club’s hierarchy and particularly values his professional relationship with Andrea Berta.

Bailey further explained: “Arsenal have already spoken to Arteta’s representatives and laid the groundwork, but all parties agreed talks would only move forward after the season concluded. The club are thrilled not only with the on-field results but also with the harmony across all levels — from ownership to management, including Andrea Berta, Arteta and his staff, and the players.”

Champions League disappointment won’t halt progress

Although the Premier League triumph was a massive milestone, Arsenal were left heartbroken after their Champions League final defeat to PSG in Budapest. Despite taking an early lead, the Gunners eventually lost in a penalty shootout at the Puskas Arena. Nevertheless, the club’s leadership sees the European run as further confirmation that Arteta is the right person to guide Arsenal into a new era of success.

Bailey concluded: “They are improving all the time. Just a year ago, there were doubts about keeping players like William Saliba and Bukayo Saka, but that’s no longer an issue. Arteta loves this team and has no intention of leaving. Winning the Premier League is just the beginning, and new terms for him are already in the pipeline.”
