WSL Full-Time reported that the announcement came through an official club statement from Chelsea on Sunday evening.
The Republic of Ireland international, aged 30, will officially join Chelsea on 1 July 2026 after her contract with Arsenal expires. She has agreed to a three-year contract with the South West London club, which also includes an option for a further year.
McCabe has been part of Arsenal for over a decade, during which she made more than 300 appearances across all competitions. Throughout her time in North London, the defender has lifted several major trophies, including the UEFA Women’s Champions League, FIFA Women’s Champions Cup, Barclays Women’s Super League, Adobe Women’s FA Cup, and three Subway Women’s League Cups.
At the international level, McCabe has represented the Republic of Ireland 105 times, scoring 34 goals for her country.
Expressing her excitement about the move, McCabe said, “This marks a fresh chapter in my career. It’s something I feel completely ready for.”
She continued, “I can’t wait to get started and show the Chelsea fans how prepared I am to play for this badge.”
