The future of Yan Diomande could soon be decided after two well-known transfer experts, including Fabrizio Romano, provided the latest updates on Liverpool and PSG’s interest in the young star.

At just 19 years old, Diomande has already established himself as one of the most sought-after wingers in world football.

Liverpool believe he has the potential to fill the void left by Mohamed Salah, who is expected to leave Anfield despite a managerial change.

Meanwhile, PSG are confident that Diomande could further strengthen their already formidable attacking line, particularly significant given that they have won the Champions League twice in a row.

RB Leipzig are reluctant to sell the youngster, but Diomande himself is eager to take the next step in his career. The Bundesliga club would only agree to a sale if an extraordinary offer comes their way.

Reports suggest that the transfer fee could be around €100 million (£86 million), although German outlet BILD claims Leipzig might demand as much as €150 million (£130 million).

Such a massive price tag likely means only a bidding war between Liverpool and PSG could make the deal happen. However, Leipzig’s high valuation could actually work to Liverpool’s advantage.

Indication: Liverpool Could Beat PSG in the Race for Yan Diomande

French journalist Santi Aouna recently revealed that Diomande has already received offers from both Liverpool and PSG.

In other words, the player is open to joining either club if an agreement is reached between the clubs and Leipzig.

“Yan Diomande has given the green light to join PSG and Liverpool,” Aouna wrote.

“Several meetings have taken place between PSG/Leipzig and his agent.”

In a follow-up post on FootMercato, Aouna stated that PSG are hesitant to overspend on Diomande.

This could be a positive sign for the Reds, who appear more willing to invest heavily in the Ivorian winger.

PSG’s attacking department is already stacked with top-tier players, especially in the wide positions, making it understandable why they might prefer not to pay an inflated price.

Liverpool, on the other hand, could justify the expense with Salah’s imminent exit and the inconsistent form of Cody Gakpo and Federico Chiesa.

The report reads: “According to our sources, Yan Diomande has given his approval to join Paris Saint-Germain.”

“This is an important step in the recruitment process, as the Paris club is waiting for mutual interest before making its next move.”

However, Diomande appears less enthusiastic about joining Bayern Munich, who are also tracking him.

“He is also tempted by the idea of joining Liverpool,” the report adds.

“It remains to be seen whether PSG can reach an agreement with RB Leipzig, who are in a strong position due to the player’s contract length.”

“The Paris club does not intend to overpay for any player, believing their current squad is already full of talent.”

Fabrizio Romano Shares the Latest on Yan Diomande’s Transfer Situation

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now shared his insight on the situation, revealing that the player’s “preference” is to finalise a move as soon as possible.

Diomande reportedly wants his future sorted out before the World Cup kicks off in mid-June.

Therefore, significant developments regarding his transfer are expected to happen soon, with June 11 being a key date—just nine days away.

“Liverpool are in talks with Yan Diomande’s camp,” Romano said on his YouTube channel. “So Liverpool are definitely working on it.”

“PSG are also pushing for the deal, speaking to the player’s camp, and they are genuinely interested in Diomande.

“So the competition has started, but PSG’s desire to sign Diomande is also linked to the situation surrounding Bradley Barcola. Hence, Diomande is at the top of both clubs’ wish lists.”

“I can tell you the player’s preference is to wrap up the deal AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, before the Ivory Coast’s World Cup campaign begins, so he can focus on the tournament without worrying about his future.”

“Therefore, his representatives will push to fast-track Diomande’s transfer before the World Cup.”

Although Diomande may not be Liverpool’s top target, there is still a scenario where PSG could win the race for his signature and later sell Barcola to Liverpool.
