SEMARANG – TVRI Central Java is inviting the public to experience the excitement of the FIFA World Cup by joining its public viewing (nobar) events, which will take place at the TVRI Central Java complex on Jalan Pucang Gading, Batursari, Mranggen, Demak Regency, Central Java.
The Head of TVRI Central Java Station, Sanny Damanik, stated that the station has prepared an outdoor area in its parking lot to host screenings of all 104 World Cup matches broadcast by TVRI Nasional and TVRI Sport.
“We welcome residents around the TVRI Central Java area to come and enjoy the public viewing at our Pucang Gading premises,” Sanny told reporters on Tuesday (2 June 2026).
According to Sanny, the first public viewing will coincide with the opening match of the World Cup on 11 June. Preparations for the site have already begun days ahead of the tournament’s kickoff.
At the 2026 World Cup, the opening match will feature Mexico against South Africa at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
In addition to the screenings, TVRI Central Java is also offering local micro and small business owners the opportunity to sell their products around the viewing area free of charge.
“We are also providing opportunities for micro and small entrepreneurs to sell their goods around the viewing site at TVRI, and it’s completely free of charge,” he added.
Sanny clarified that there will be no formal registration procedure for small business owners who wish to participate. They are welcome to come directly and use the designated areas.
“We’re not opening any registration process. Anyone is welcome to come since the space is large enough. We invite the community to make use of it,” he said.
He emphasized that this free facility is reserved exclusively for micro and small enterprises, while larger commercial businesses must comply with applicable regulations.
Beyond the public viewing event, TVRI Central Java is also preparing a variety of supporting programs throughout the World Cup period.
Sanny encouraged the public to take advantage of the public viewing facilities to watch their favourite teams during the tournament. “Please come by, choose whichever match you want to watch, maybe even see your favourite players in action,” he said.
