Before the Afghanistan series, Team India has got a new spin bowling coach. Taking a big decision, BCCI has appointed Sairaj Bahutule as the new spin bowling coach.
1 Test and 3 match ODI series is to be played between India and Afghanistan. This series is going to start from 6th June. Before the Afghanistan series, BCCI has appointed Sairaj Bahutule as the spin bowling coach and given him a big responsibility. 53-year-old Bahutule is a well-known name in Indian cricket. Now he will work together with Gautam Gambhir. Let us tell you, Bahutule has played for India and has been active in the world of coaching for a long time.
Despite the flop show in IPL 2026, Aaqib Nabi’s entry in Team India, BCCI included him in the test squad.
Sairaj Bahutule has worked with Punjab Kings in IPL 2026. Before this he has worked with the men’s teams of Kerala and Bengal. From 2018 to 2021, he has been a part of the support staff of Rajasthan Royals. Apart from this, Bahutule has also worked with former Indian head coach Rahul Dravid. When Dravid was the head coach, he worked as support staff in some series of India A and Team India. Now he will be seen doing less with Gautam Gambhir.
Indian cricketer Sairaj Bahutule made his debut for Team India in 1997. But his international career did not last long. He has played only 2 Test and 8 ODI matches for India. However, his performance in domestic cricket has been excellent. He has taken 630 wickets in 188 first class matches and 197 wickets in 143 List A matches.
