A car lost control between Sainik Hotel and Pant village near Devprayag, fell off the road into a deep gorge and straight into the Alaknanda river. A painful road accident occurred on Tuesday morning near Devprayag located in Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. A car moving on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway suddenly went out of control and fell into a deep ditch, breaking the parapet made for safety on the roadside. According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle fell several meters and fell straight into the Alaknanda river.

The accident happened between Sainik Hotel and Pant village at around 10 am. Immediately after the incident, local people informed the police and administration.
