India at 2047 Conclave: These days, AI is being discussed everywhere. From seminars to government levels, there is a lot of brainstorming and discussion about AI. Currently, Western companies are ahead in the field of AI. Chatbots from companies like OpenAI, Google, Anthropic have become popular all over the world and these companies are still investing heavily. Where does India stand in this entire picture and what preparations are being made for AI in India, on this, Peak XV Partners founder Rajan Anandan has expressed his views in ABP India at the 2047 Conclave.

Which path is India following regarding AI?

Anandan stated that India will be far ahead in AI in the next 10 years. Currently, India will not copy the model of investing billions in AI models, and India should not take that path. India remains among the leading countries in terms of AI consumption. He noted that India is the first or second largest consumer market for ChatGPT and Gemini. More interestingly, India today has more AI consumer startups than the US. This indicates a vibrant consumer innovation ecosystem. The world's fastest-growing AI education company is also based in India. Indian companies are poised to build a substantial business at the AI application level.

Indian companies will be ahead in voice AI – Anandan.

Anandan said that Indian companies are rapidly advancing in the field of voice AI. While ElevenLabs currently holds the top spot, within the next two years, all the companies in the top five will be Indian. This is because their cost structure is significantly cheaper than foreign companies. Regarding AI models, Anandan said that India doesn't need a 3 trillion parameter model like Google's. India should focus on models that meet the basic needs of its people at a low cost. The Indian government has funded 12 foundation model companies, and India will need to develop its own AI models.

AI will impact jobs: Anandan.

Anandan said that AI will impact jobs in every country. The impact will be even greater than the Industrial Revolution. Current jobs may disappear in the next few years, but new ones will also be created. To achieve this, people will need to learn new skills. Anandan also expressed hope that AI will lead to the discovery of cures for diseases and people will be able to live up to 150 years.
