Although born and raised in Qatar, Tahsin's heritage is deeply rooted in Kerala, with his father originating from Thalassery and his mother from Valapattanam.

This selection marks a groundbreaking moment, as he becomes the first footballer of Kerala descent to be part of a FIFA World Cup squad. Should he step onto the pitch during the tournament, he will also be the first Malayali to participate in a FIFA World Cup match.

Tahsin, who plays for Al-Duhail SC, has already made headlines by being the first player of Indian descent to compete in the Qatar Stars League at just 17 years old.
