Virat Kohli, famous as Team India’s ‘Running Machine’ before the Australia tour, is back on the pitch again. He studied under Gujarat Titans assistant coach Navim Amin. Kohli wrote in his Instagram story, “Thank you for the help in the hit, brother. It’s always a pleasure to see you.” He also shared a photo of himself with Amin during the session. Amin re-shared the story on his account and wrote, “Brother, nice to see you! See you soon.” Amin runs the Mighty Willow Academies in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and London and was previously on the coaching staff of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Earlier, India’s fast bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya had also visited Amin’s academy for a good practice session. Virat Kohli has retired from Test and T20 cricket. Now Kohli’s focus is entirely on ODIs for India and IPL commitments with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Kohli has scored 14,181 runs in 302 One Day International matches. He last played a brilliant innings in the final of IPL 2025. Kohli played an inning of 43 runs, due to which RCB won its first trophy by defeating Punjab Kings by six runs in the title match held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Fans are eager to see Kohli on the field again, but fans will have to wait till October. India was to play three one-day matches in Bangladesh in August, but with the mutual consent between BCCI and BCB, this series has been postponed till September 2026. Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who are also away from Test and T20 Internationals, are both expected to return for the one-day leg of India’s Australia tour. This tournament will start from 19th October at Perth Stadium. After that the remaining matches will be played on 23rd and 25th October.
