Indian wicketkeeper batsman KS Bharat shared a post on his Instagram, in which he wrote, With pride and gratitude I announce my retirement from international cricket. Representing my country has been the greatest honor of my life. In this post, Bharat expressed his gratitude to BCCI, Andhra Cricket Association, Vizag District Cricket Association (VDCA) and his family. Apart from this, he specially thanked former captain Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and former head coach Rahul Dravid.

32-year-old Indian wicketkeeper KS Bharat has been one of those players who worked hard in domestic cricket for years and made a place in the Indian team on the basis of his excellent performance. However, his international career did not last long and he got limited opportunities. But getting the Test cap of Team India is one of the biggest achievements of his career. Between 2023 and 2024, he has played a total of 7 test matches for India. In which he scored 221 runs at an average of 20.09.

Bharat was initially included in the team as a back-up wicketkeeper for the West Indies tour. He made his Test debut against Australia during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023. He was included in the team as a wicketkeeper batsman in the absence of Rishabh Pant. India played its last Test against England in Visakhapatnam in 2024.

In his career, he has played 113 first class matches, in which he has scored 6102 runs in 180 innings. During this period, he has scored 34 half-centuries and 11 centuries. In T20, he has scored 1812 runs in 86 innings of 91 matches, which includes 11 half-centuries. Apart from this, the wicketkeeper batsman has scored 199 runs in 10 matches while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals in IPL.
