Bayern Munich have initiated formal discussions with PSV Eindhoven regarding a potential transfer deal worth up to €60 million for the dynamic winger Ismael Saibari. The Bundesliga heavyweights have already reached a verbal agreement on personal terms with the 25-year-old, who is understood to be manager Vincent Kompany’s top summer target.

Bavarians launch high-profile pursuit

As reported by Sky Sport, Bayern Munich are rapidly progressing in their chase for PSV star Saibari after agreeing personal conditions on a long-term contract running until 2031. The German champions have now opened official negotiations with the Dutch club to finalise the transfer fee. The total package is expected to be between €50 million and €60 million, although PSV retain strong bargaining power since the Moroccan international remains under contract until 2029 with the Eredivisie titleholders.

Kompany’s tactical vision takes shape

The Bayern management have clarified that Saibari’s signing is not intended as a backup option for Anthony Gordon, who recently completed a move to Barcelona. Instead, Kompany considers the Moroccan attacker a key component of his tactical setup due to his ability to play in multiple forward positions. The Belgian coach is said to be particularly impressed by Saibari’s explosive pace, technical sharpness, and physical strength—attributes that he honed during his youth career at Anderlecht, Mechelen, and Genk.

Saibari central to PSV’s dominant season

Saibari’s market value has soared following his standout contributions to PSV’s triumphant 2025–26 campaign, in which the Eindhoven side secured the Eredivisie title with 84 points—19 clear of second-placed Feyenoord. The midfielder delivered a stellar personal season, tallying 15 goals and eight assists across 27 league appearances, reinforcing his reputation as one of Europe’s most efficient attacking midfielders.

Should Bayern Munich finalise the deal, the 29-cap international will become the fourth Moroccan to represent the Bavarian club, following in the footsteps of Medhi Benatia, Noussair Mazraoui, and Adam Aznou.

World Cup duties before Bayern switch

Before joining up with his prospective new teammates, Saibari will turn his attention to national team commitments as he leads Morocco into the 2026 World Cup. The global stage will provide an opportunity for him to further enhance his profile, prompting Bayern to push for a swift conclusion to negotiations before his valuation potentially rises. After the tournament, the powerful winger will face an intense pre-season in Munich, where Kompany expects him to compete immediately for a starting role in the restructured attack.
