The 2026 FIFA World Cup will include a total of 1,247 players representing 48 national teams, with 319 of them having previously competed at the Qatar 2022 tournament. Among these, Argentina and Switzerland lead the way with 17 returning players each.

Brazil have 15 players from their 2022 squad returning to the global stage. The list includes Alisson, Ederson, Weverton, Danilo, Bremer, Marquinhos, Alex Sandro, Bruno Guimarães, Casemiro, Fabinho, Lucas Paquetá, Gabriel Martinelli, Neymar, Vini Jr., and Raphinha.

Belgium, Croatia, Iran and Uruguay follow closely with 14 returning players each.

Five nations—Canada, Qatar, Ecuador, the United States, and Japan—will each have 13 players making a second consecutive World Cup appearance. South Korea, Spain, Mexico, and Senegal have 12 returning players apiece.

France, Ghana, and the Netherlands each have 11 returning players, while Saudi Arabia and Morocco have 10. Germany and Australia will each bring back nine players from Qatar 2022, England have eight, and Tunisia have seven.

Nine coaches who were present at the 2022 edition will once again take charge in 2026. Five will continue with the same national teams, while four have switched sides. Among them, Lionel Scaloni and Didier Deschamps stand out as the two managers who faced each other in the Qatar final. Scaloni will guide Argentina for the second straight World Cup, while Deschamps will lead France for the fourth consecutive edition.
