A shooting incident in Kansas City, Missouri, has left nine individuals injured, occurring close to the location designated as England's base for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. Local authorities reported that police were dispatched to Troost Avenue around 4:00 AM on Saturday after receiving gunfire alerts. Captain Jake Becchina of the Kansas City Police Department stated that upon arrival, officers observed a large crowd dispersing from the scene.

Three adult women were among those injured and were promptly transported to a hospital for medical attention. In total, nine adults sought treatment at various local hospitals, with their injuries classified as non-life-threatening. As of now, no arrests have been made, and there are no suspects in custody. Police continue to monitor the area as the investigation unfolds.

This shooting took place not far from the training facility and hotel that England's team will utilize during the World Cup. Currently, the players and staff are in Palm Beach, Florida, finalizing their preparations for the tournament. They recently secured a 1-0 victory against New Zealand in a warm-up match in Tampa and are set to face Costa Rica in Orlando on Wednesday.

England is expected to arrive in Kansas City on June 13, where they will stay throughout the tournament. Their training will take place at Swope Soccer Village, which serves as the home for Sporting Kansas City's reserve and academy teams. Kansas City will also host several other national teams during the World Cup, including defending champions Argentina, who will train at Sporting Kansas City's main facility, while the Netherlands will utilize the facilities of the National Women's Soccer League team, Kansas City Current.
