Internet Services Suspended: The biggest news of this time is coming out from Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Let us tell you that the administration has decided to stop mobile internet services for 24 hours in many sensitive areas of the city. According to the order issued by the government, 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G mobile internet services will be completely closed from 12 midnight on June 7 to 12 midnight on June 8. In which users will not be able to use WhatsApp, Facebook, X and other social media platforms.
It is being informed that this step has been taken before the action to remove encroachment proposed by Jaipur Development Authority. Due to which the administration fears that during the action, rumors or misleading information may be spread through social media due to which law and order is likely to be affected. Keeping this in mind, Divisional Commissioner V. Sarvan Kumar has issued an order for temporary suspension of internet services. In which people will not be able to use bulk SMS and MMS services.
Officials have informed that this decision has been taken purely as a precautionary measure. In which the administration believes that it is very important to stop the spread of any kind of inflammatory material, rumor or misinformation in sensitive areas. This ban has been implemented in many major urban and suburban areas of Jaipur as well as in sensitive police station areas. For your information, let us tell you that the order has been implemented under the Temporary Suspension of Telecom Services Rules, 2017 which allows temporary closure of internet and telecom services in special circumstances.
Due to this decision, internet will remain closed and many problems are also going to happen in which digital payment, online banking, cab booking, food delivery, social media operation and other app based services will not be available. In such a situation, local citizens and businessmen have been advised to make necessary preparations in advance. Regarding this, the administration has clarified that during the restrictions, strict legal action will be taken against those who try to spread misinformation or disturb law and order through alternative means.
In such a situation, after seeing this decision, experts say that in the digital era, internet shutdown can definitely create inconvenience for the common people, but the administration is calling it an effective solution to maintain peace and security in sensitive situations.
