A new member has been added to the British royal family. Peter Phillips, nephew of King Charles and son of Princess Anne, has married nurse Harriet Spurling. The wedding took place on Saturday in a private ceremony at All Saints Church, Kemble in Gloucestershire, England. On this occasion, many members of the royal family including King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Princess Kate were present.
Both of them had announced their engagement in August 2025. In the statement issued at that time, it was said that the royal family is very happy with this news. Peter Phillips and Harriet Spurling met during a sports competition in 2024. It is said that both of them had reached that program with their respective daughters. After this, both of them started appearing together in many public programs.
In June 2024, both of them attended Royal Ascot as guests of King Charles and Queen Camilla. They were also seen together at Prince William's charity polo match and in the Royal Box at Wimbledon last year. 45 year old Harriet Spurling is a pediatric specialist nurse in the NHS (National Health Service). He is also a freelance writer. Harriet works for the early mental development of children and their better upbringing.
Harriet had earlier written an article under the name Harriet Sanders, in which she shared her experiences as a single mother. He had written that he and his daughter Georgina lived with each other for about 10 years. Georgina was also present at the wedding ceremony and had reached the church with her mother. This is also the second marriage of Peter Phillips. His first marriage was to Autumn Phillips in 2008. Both of them got divorced in 2021. They have two daughters- Savannah (15 years) and Aila (14 years).
At the wedding, Harriet wore a dress designed by famous designer Emilia Wickstead. She wore the Pragnell family tiara, signature earrings and Jimmy Choo shoes. Her bouquet included flowers like sweet pea, myrtle and lily of the valley. The myrtle flower is part of a long-standing tradition of both the royal family and Harriet's family.
Her brother Nicholas Sanders brought Harriet to the church. During this time his mother Mary Sanders and sisters Louisa and Rebecca were also present. The wedding was attended by many members of the royal family, including Zara and Mike Tindall, Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh. After marriage, Harriet will now be known as Mrs. Phillips and has officially become a part of the British royal family.
