The Brazilian winger is reportedly open to a move, a year after his proposed transfer to north London fell through.
According to Standard Sport, Tottenham Hotspur have renewed their pursuit of Manchester City’s Savinho, who had been a prime target last summer under then-head coach Thomas Frank. However, negotiations at that time collapsed as both clubs failed to agree on a transfer fee.
Spurs have now reignited their interest, with the potential deal expected to cost around £60 million. The structure of the agreement would likely include performance-based add-ons and bonuses.
Savinho extended his contract with Manchester City in October, keeping him tied to the club until the summer of 2031.
Last summer, City held firm on their £70 million valuation of the player — a figure Tottenham were unwilling to meet as they intended to reinvest the funds in a replacement signing. With talks breaking down, Savinho remained at City, who later brought in Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo for £65 million in the January window.
Semenyo, along with Rayan Cherki and Jeremy Doku, enjoyed strong form during the latter half of the season, which further limited Savinho’s opportunities for regular first-team football.
Securing more playing time has become Savinho’s top priority as he considers his future ahead of the upcoming season.
Although he is believed to be keen on leaving City to find more consistent minutes, the anticipated appointment of Enzo Maresca as Pep Guardiola’s successor introduces a degree of uncertainty about his future role.
It is still unknown how highly Maresca regards the Brazilian winger and whether his position in the first-team hierarchy might improve under new management.
Adding to his frustrations, Savinho was omitted from Brazil’s 26-man World Cup squad selected by head coach Carlo Ancelotti.
