A very relieving and big news has come for the people living in rural areas of Bihar. Now they will not have to run to cities to get any correction made in their Aadhar card or get a new card made, nor will they have to waste their time standing in long queues. In a high level review meeting of the Panchayati Raj Department held in Patna, a very big decision has been taken regarding rural areas. Department Minister Deepak Prakash has clearly issued instructions that rapid expansion of Aadhaar services in villages is the biggest priority of the government.
Bihar government has set a very strict deadline to implement this scheme. A strict target has been set to start Aadhaar Seva Kendra in 2000 Gram Panchayats of the state by 21st June. The biggest advantage of this step of the government will be that people in rural areas will no longer have to travel to another city or block to update their Aadhar card or avail other new services to it.
To keep this new system transparent and effective, the government has also strengthened the monitoring system. District Panchayat Raj Officer (DPRO) and Block Panchayat Raj Officer (BPRO) have been given strict orders to visit the Panchayats themselves every week and closely check the ground situation of these Aadhaar centres. The complete report of this investigation will be sent directly to the department so that there is no scope for any delay in the work. The Panchayati Raj Minister has given a stern warning to the officials, saying that any kind of laxity or carelessness in the operation of Aadhaar Seva Centers will not be tolerated at all and immediate and strict legal action will be taken against the lax officers as well as the concerned agencies.
The objective of this initiative of the government is not only to make Aadhaar card, but also to spread a strong network of digital services to the remote rural areas of Bihar through these service centres. The real goal of the Bihar government is that in every Panchayat of the state, the common citizens can get all the important and main government services of their need very easily and without any hassle, near their homes.
During this important review meeting held in Patna, not only Aadhaar centers were discussed, but other development schemes running in the state were also thoroughly reviewed. In the meeting, the current status of construction work of Panchayat Government Building, progress of installation of solar street lights in villages and many other important public welfare schemes were seen. The Minister gave strict instructions to all concerned officials that each and every scheme should be completed in a completely transparent manner and within the stipulated time. Let us tell you that in this very important meeting, Panchayati Raj Department Secretary Manoj Kumar, Director Naveen Kumar Singh along with many other senior and senior officials of the department were also present.
