Mary Earps will depart Paris Saint-Germain this summer, the French club announced on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper is leaving after completing two seasons with the Ligue 1 Féminine side, with her contract set to expire on 30 June.

Reports suggest that Earps is close to securing a return to the Women’s Super League, with London City Lionesses expected to be her next club.

The Lionesses, owned by American billionaire Michele Kang, made an impressive start in their debut WSL campaign last year, finishing in sixth place.

Earps reflected on her time in France through a farewell video shared by PSG, describing her spell in Paris as “a crazy, great experience.”

She said, “I’d call it great because I’m leaving with such fond memories. I’ve met wonderful people, trained at a world-class facility, and had the chance to play at the Parc des Princes.”

“It’s been an experience that has helped me grow both as a player and as a person. That’s all you can really hope for in life — to keep improving every day. That’s what I’ve always tried to do.”

“I’ve had the opportunity to play alongside some fantastic footballers from around the world. I even travelled to Africa for the first time for the League Cup final.”

“There have been so many memorable moments on the pitch, and off it too. Some truly special experiences in Paris that I’ll cherish forever.”

“I’m leaving with my heart full, feeling happy, privileged and lucky to have had such a wonderful time here.”

Before joining PSG, Earps spent five years with Manchester United, where she made her mark as part of the Red Devils squad that lifted their first major trophy — the Women’s FA Cup.

Since her move from United to PSG in the summer of 2024, she made 57 appearances over two seasons and helped the team secure a third-place finish in the French top flight last season.

On the international front, Earps was instrumental in England’s triumph at the 2022 European Championship and their journey to the 2023 World Cup final.

She earned 53 caps for the Lionesses before announcing her retirement ahead of England’s European Championship title defence last summer.
