Some people believe that love only happens once, but do you know how many times true love actually happens? Recently a study in America has tried to find the answer to this question.
In this study, 10,036 single people aged 18 to 99 were asked how many times they had fallen in love in their life. According to research, on an average a person experiences intense love about twice (2.05 times) in his life.
The research also revealed that 14 percent of people had never experienced love. Furthermore, 28 percent fell in love only once, 30 percent twice, 17 percent three times and 11 percent four or more times. Dr. Amanda Gesselman, lead author of the study, said this is the first time it has become clear how often love happens throughout life.
The study also found that there was not much difference in experience based on age and gender. The experiences of men and women were almost similar. However, as age increases, the experience of love becomes more frequent, showing that love has no age limit.
These findings help therapists and counselors, as they can better understand people’s love lives. It is important to understand that deep and passionate love does not happen often, but other forms such as friendship, trust and understanding are also important in relationships.
