When will the 5th GDS merit list be released?
So far, India Post has published four GDS merit lists. Analyzing last year's recruitment patterns, six merit lists were issued to fill 21,000 positions. Therefore, it is anticipated that additional merit lists will be released for the current 28,636 vacancies. The fourth supplementary list was made public on June 8, 2026, and the document verification process is currently in progress, set to continue until June 23, 2026. If another merit list is to be released, it is expected to be available by the second week of July.

What is the salary?
Candidates who are selected for the Branch Postmaster (BPM) role will earn a monthly salary ranging from ₹12,000 to ₹29,380. Meanwhile, Assistant Branch Postmasters (ABPM) and Dak Sevaks will receive a monthly salary between ₹10,000 and ₹24,470.
