Both central and state governments are committed to fostering self-reliance among girls through various supportive initiatives. The Rajasthan government's program specifically addresses educational and marriage-related expenses for girls.
This initiative, known as the "Mukhyamantri Rajshree Yojana," is designed to cover all costs associated with a girl's upbringing, from birth through her educational journey. The scheme also aims to combat female foeticide while promoting education for girls.
Launch Date: The scheme was introduced in 2016, providing direct financial assistance of ₹50,000 to be deposited into the girl's account, covering her life from birth until she completes Class 12.
Eligible daughters will receive the funds in several installments:
1. ₹2,500 at birth
2. ₹2,500 when she turns one year old
3. ₹4,000 upon school admission
4. ₹5,000 when she enters Class 6
5. ₹11,000 upon admission to Class 10
6. ₹25,000 after passing Class 12, transferred directly to her account.
To apply for this scheme, necessary documents include the girl's birth certificate or Aadhaar card, along with health cards for both mother and child, and a school admission certificate. Applications can be submitted through the designated online portal.
