Raipur. In Chhattisgarh, gram sabhas will be organized in all the gram panchayats of the state on 24 June 2026. Panchayat and Rural Development Department has issued instructions to discuss and take necessary decisions on various important topics related to public interest and rural development in Gram Sabhas.

The system generated Permanent Waiting List (PWL) specially prepared on the basis of Housing Plus 2.0 survey will be perused and read out in the Gram Sabhas. Through this, information about the list will be made available to the villagers.
According to the guidelines and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the government, the Gram Sabha will prepare a priority list of eligible beneficiaries. During this time, the claims and objections received from the villagers will also be accepted and the process of resolving them will be completed as per the prescribed rules. After getting approval from Gram Sabha, the permanent waiting list will be uploaded in the housing related software, so that further process can be decided.
A report on the action taken on the decisions of the previous Gram Sabha will be presented in the meeting. Along with this, the income and expenditure of Panchayats will also be reviewed and approved. Information about the progress of development works approved under various schemes will be shared in Gram Panchayats and other developmental issues will also be discussed, so that effective implementation of the schemes can be ensured.
Information about India-Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) i.e. VB-G RAM G developed in Gram Sabhas will also be provided to the villagers. Its objectives, benefits and topics related to implementation will be discussed so that the rural community can get benefits by joining this mission.
The Panchayat and Rural Development Department has appealed to all the Gram Panchayats of the state to ensure maximum participation of villagers in Gram Sabhas. The department says that increasing public participation in important decisions related to rural development will promote better implementation and transparency of schemes.
