Paul Pogba has expressed strong confidence in Manchester United’s future, declaring that the team will ‘definitely’ reclaim the Premier League title under the leadership of Michael Carrick. The former United midfielder believes that after a period of instability and transition, the club is finally heading in the right direction at Old Trafford.

Pogba backs Carrick for Premier League success

Pogba is convinced that Manchester United’s long trophy drought will soon end, asserting that the Red Devils will “definitely” win the Premier League title with Carrick at the helm. The ex-England international was recently appointed as the permanent replacement for Ruben Amorim, who was dismissed in January after a run of disappointing results.

Since taking charge as interim manager, Carrick has overseen a remarkable transformation, guiding United back into Champions League contention and reviving the optimism that had been missing for years. Pogba, who played alongside Carrick during his second spell at Old Trafford, believes that the resurgence of Manchester United is now inevitable.

Ambitious predictions and Arsenal comparison

During an interview with talkSPORT, the French midfielder was emphatic when asked if Manchester United could once again reach the top of English football. “Yes,” Pogba said. “I think Manchester United will win in the next years, they’re going to be champions of the Premier League.”

He went on to add, “If Arsenal can be champions then Manchester United will definitely be champion. It’s a big statement. No disrespect but I believe they will. In the next five years they’re going to win. Maybe I went a bit far, I will say in the next three years. In my opinion I think they can make it.”

The comparison with Arsenal carries special weight, as the Gunners recently ended a decades-long wait to lift the Premier League trophy again. Manchester United have now gone 14 years without being crowned champions of England, but Pogba believes that Carrick’s appointment has shifted the momentum in the club’s favour.

‘All or Nothing’ spotlight on Manchester United

The 2026-27 season is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated in Manchester United’s history, both on and off the field. Amazon Prime has confirmed the production of a new “All or Nothing” documentary, offering behind-the-scenes access to Carrick’s squad throughout the campaign, including exclusive footage from the dressing room and the newly upgraded Carrington Training Complex.

Club communications chief Toby Craig discussed the decision to open the doors to cameras, explaining, “Now is the right time to open our doors, so that for the first time our fans around the world can see behind the scenes of a club which means so much to so many people.”

Pogba’s road to redemption

While Pogba continues to voice his faith in his former club, his personal journey has been far more challenging. At 33, the midfielder is seeking to rebuild his career in Ligue 1 after enduring a series of fitness setbacks since joining Monaco last summer.

His return to competitive football marks the end of a lengthy period of inactivity caused by a doping suspension and recurring injuries. Despite having made only six appearances for the French side this season, Pogba remains determined to regain full match fitness and return to peak form. He has also shared that while his immediate focus is on his club career, he still dreams of earning a recall to the French national team.
