Norway, often dubbed the 'dark horses' of the competition, are set to face Iraq this evening in Group I of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The encounter marks a key moment for Norway to assert their credentials on the world stage, and the BBC has now unveiled its full line-up of pundits, commentators and presenters set to cover the match live. The broadcast will begin at 11 pm BST.

Norway enter the tournament as one of the most intriguing teams, boasting a quietly impressive squad capable of challenging any side when performing at their peak. Having secured eight wins out of eight in their World Cup qualifying campaign, the Erling Haaland-led side will be eager to make a strong statement against Iraq.

The match will take place at Boston Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts – formerly known as Gillette Stadium – which has been rebranded for the duration of the tournament. British audiences will be able to watch the match live on BBC channels.

Fronting the coverage is experienced broadcaster Kelly Cates, well-known to football fans through her work with BBC, Sky Sports, and ESPN. Cates, the eldest daughter of legendary Scottish footballer Sir Kenny Dalglish, rose to prominence in the broadcasting world during the early 2010s and has since become a respected voice in sports media.

Joining Cates in the studio will be two expert pundits, both former players with extensive international experience. The first is Ashley Williams, the former Everton defender and Wales international, who earned over 80 caps for his country. Although Williams never featured in a World Cup tournament, his leadership and defensive insight will provide valuable perspective on Norway’s tactical approach.

Alongside him will be Ellen White, the former England striker and Lionesses legend. Having represented her country on the biggest stages, White brings deep understanding of what it takes to excel at international level. Her analytical eye and experience in major tournaments will complement the BBC panel’s coverage of this crucial Group I fixture.

With an exciting clash anticipated between Norway’s attacking flair and Iraq’s disciplined structure, the BBC’s broadcast promises expert insight, in-depth analysis, and comprehensive coverage for football fans across the UK.
