Manchester United are actively seeking to reinforce their options on the flanks, with manager Michael Carrick particularly keen on acquiring a dedicated left-wing specialist.

Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville has emerged as a prominent target for the club, although negotiations with West Ham United have proven challenging so far.

The potential signing of Summerville is largely dependent on INEOS’ ability to negotiate the departure of Marcus Rashford. Reports from TEAMtalk indicate that the club’s co-owners are optimistic about finding a buyer for the Mancunian forward.

According to the latest updates, Manchester United have formally contacted West Ham United to initiate discussions regarding the 24-year-old winger, who has been delivering standout performances at the World Cup.

Previous reports from The Peoples Person suggested that Summerville’s wage demands have made it difficult for Serie A clubs to pursue him, leaving Premier League sides as the strongest contenders for his signature. Tottenham Hotspur are also believed to be in the mix, expressing clear interest in the former Leeds United player.

TEAMtalk reports, “Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have both made approaches to sign Crysencio Summerville from West Ham United. The Hammers are thought to value the winger at approximately £50 million, reflecting both his potential and his contract running until 2029. However, that figure could be negotiable given West Ham’s need to balance their financial books.”

The report adds, “Manchester United have made formal enquiries and view Summerville as a prime candidate for the left-wing role, particularly in the event that Marcus Rashford leaves. Sources also suggest that the 24-year-old former Leeds star ranks highly in United’s data analysis metrics.”

“Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, maintain a strong interest in the Dutchman. Sources indicate that Spurs have also been in contact with West Ham and regard Summerville as a versatile attacking option, either as depth or as an alternative to other targets.”

West Ham are expected to encourage a potential bidding war to maximise their return, though INEOS and United are likely to proceed cautiously to avoid overpaying.

For the moment, the focus at Old Trafford appears to be on finalising a deal with West Ham for Mateus Fernandes, as Real Madrid are making a late effort to sign the midfielder. Carrick remains determined to strengthen his midfield lineup before the next season begins.
