Everyone desires the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth. To this end, people engage in worship, observe fasts, and perform various religious rituals. However, it is not just worship; certain daily habits can also determine whether one receives Goddess Lakshmi's grace or incurs her displeasure. Fridays are considered especially sacred to Goddess Lakshmi, and religious beliefs advise against certain actions on this day. It is believed that engaging in these activities can lead to financial hardship, unnecessary expenses, and the loss of wealth.

Elaborating on this, Pandit Deeplal Jaipuri, an astrologer from Ambala, explained that Goddess Lakshmi resides where there is an atmosphere of cleanliness, positivity, and purity (*sattvikta*). Therefore, one is advised to be particularly mindful of their behavior and actions on Fridays. He noted that ignoring these guidelines could result in financial difficulties.

**Making Donations on Fridays**

Regarding charity, he explained that while making donations on Fridays is considered auspicious, there are certain items one should avoid giving away. According to religious beliefs, donating sugar or silver on this day is not considered appropriate. Doing so can weaken the planet Venus (*Shukra*), which may negatively impact a person's happiness and material comforts. Additionally, it is advised to abstain from consuming meat and alcohol on Fridays. As the day symbolizes purity and *sattvik* qualities, consuming *tamasic* food (foods that induce lethargy or agitation) can displease Goddess Lakshmi and lead to financial troubles.

**Cleanliness Pleases Goddess Lakshmi**

He further explained that religious texts and traditions identify cleanliness as a foundation for receiving Goddess Lakshmi's blessings. Consequently, wearing dirty or unwashed clothes on a Friday is considered inauspicious. Many people wear the same clothes repeatedly, but such habits are believed to attract negative energy. Religious belief holds that wearing clean clothes fosters positivity and prosperity within the home.

Avoid Financial Transactions on Fridays
It is also advised to exercise caution regarding financial transactions on Fridays. Lending money to others or borrowing from them on this day is not considered auspicious. Doing so can adversely affect one's financial situation and hinder the accumulation of wealth. Furthermore, it is recommended to avoid purchasing certain items related to the kitchen and worship on Fridays, as this could increase the likelihood of unnecessary expenses and financial loss.

Although these beliefs may vary across different regions and traditions, their underlying purpose is to foster discipline, cleanliness, and a positive mindset in a person's life. If one follows these guidelines with faith and devotion, happiness, prosperity, and well-being can be sustained in one's life.
