Rajasthan's Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has achieved great success. The Anti-Terrorism Squad has arrested a woman from Jaipur for being involved in anti-national activities. The woman is accused of belonging to a sleeper cell associated with Pakistani terrorist organization 'Jaish-e-Mohammed'. This arrest was made on the basis of intelligence information. The worrying thing is that high-profile extremist connections have come to light in this case.

The name of the arrested woman is said to be Babita Dhakad, and she is also known as 'Khadija'. This woman is originally from Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan and was living in Jaipur at the time of her arrest. She was a housewife. Babita was taken into custody on Sunday. This arrest was made after receiving intelligence information. It is being said that the woman was brainwashed.

The woman was arrested under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), a major development in efforts to combat terrorism in the state. Rajasthan ATS Superintendent of Police (SP) Manish Tripathi said that the suspected woman is currently on police remand for 7 days.

Pakistani numbers and foreign contacts

When investigation was started after receiving intelligence, initial investigation of his mobile phone found 2 SIM cards and a Facebook account. According to officials associated with the investigation, there were many objectionable materials in his account, which also included links to foreign profiles.

It is being told that many such people were also seen in his Facebook friend list who had flags of Jaish-e-Mohammed and other terrorist organizations and pictures of armed people. According to the police, continuous conversations with several Pakistani numbers and foreign contacts were also found on his WhatsApp account.

Suspicion of religious conversion on phone itself

According to information received from sources, a Maulvi present in Pakistan got him converted over the phone. According to sources, the cleric told her that a man named Abu-Ubaida wanted to marry her. Also, he was instructed to offer Namaz, read the Quran and follow religion as part of this process.

Investigators also allege that she was planning to go to Pakistan. A plan was being made to take him to Pakistan. The investigating agencies also suspect that he was being prepared to travel through Nepal, Saudi Arabia or UAE.

Woman suspected in several terrorist cases

According to sources, the woman's name has also come up in connection with the network of people who have been associated with old terrorist cases. These reportedly also include close associates of Masood Azhar. The investigating agencies are also probing the suspected links of these people with the hijacking case of Indian Airlines Flight 814.

It has also been revealed that the woman is also wanted in the case of attack on the Indian Army camp near Balini Vij in Jammu on 29 November 2016. This attack was allegedly carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammed commander Qari Zarar and in which 6 Indian Army soldiers were martyred.

Investigation is still in initial stages: SP Manish

On the arrest of the woman, ATS Superintendent of Police (SP) Manish Tripathi said that the investigation is still in the initial stage, all the evidence collected so far is digital and is yet to be confirmed. It is possible that these organizations may have radicalized him and trapped him in their trap. It is also possible that their motive may have been to convert him. At present the investigation is still in its initial stages, so it cannot be said yet whether he has actually converted or not. But initial investigation shows that they were trying to convert him for the last six-seven months. “They also wanted to use it to carry out incidents in India.”

SP Tripathi further said that social media accounts of people associated with banned organizations have been identified. The investigating agencies are examining his mobile phones, social media accounts and other digital devices to find out the entire scope of the network of Jaish-e-Mohammed or those organizations associated with it.

Babita deleted digital data: SP

SP Tripathi said that before her arrest, Babita had “deleted most of her digital data” to hinder the investigation. “He has deleted most of his digital data, but we will try to recover it,” he said. He also said that forensic experts are working to recover the deleted information so that his network and scope of work can be ascertained.

ATS is now focusing on tracing his digital footprint and identifying his handlers or associates to ascertain his involvement with banned organization Jaish. More information is expected to emerge during the 7-day custodial interrogation.
