According to police sources, this gold was recovered during the ongoing investigation against Trinamool leader and Bidhannagar Puranikam president Sabyasachi Dutta. Police of Bidhannagar North police station had reached Tina Bhowmik's house in Tehatta along with TMC leader Sabyasachi Dutta. During the search, 3 kg gold was recovered from the house.
Police sources said that during interrogation in the extortion case, many important information was obtained from Sabyasachi Dutta. On his behest, the team of Bidhannagar North police station reached Tina Bhowmik's house early on Tuesday. Sabyasachi Dutta was arrested on June 8 on charges of extortion. Today, on Tuesday, his police custody period is ending.
Meanwhile, information has come to light that the police of Bidhannagar North Police Station along with Sabyasachi conducted a raid operation in Tehatta and Karimpur of Nadia. The raid was conducted at the father's house and in-laws house of Tina Bhowmik Saha, a Trinamool leader and close friend of Sabyasachi. According to police sources, investigation revealed that the gold was purchased with Sabyasachi's money and was kept in Tina's house. 3 kg gold was recovered from Tina's two houses, whose value is more than Rs 4 crore.
The items recovered included gold necklaces, bangles, lockets and earrings along with heels and many other things. simultaneously
Many land related documents have also been seized. On Thursday, Tina was given a notice to appear personally at the Bidhannagar police station.
Tina Saha Bhowmik is a member of Nadia Zilla Parishad. She has also been the president of Trinamool Bangjanani in Nadia district. He is said to have close relations with Sabyasachi. It is also said that Tina had a dispute with MLA Tapas Saha. The MLA had alleged that Tina had given jobs to many people in the recruitment of primary teachers.
However, Trinamool leader Tina claims that this conspiracy has been hatched for political reasons and apart from political connections, she has no other relation with Sabyasachi Dutta. Tina told that they met in 2025. Sabyasachi Dutta has participated in various programs about four times. Tina alleges that all the jewelery of seven women of the family, including her mother and brother's wife, has been confiscated. She said that she will take legal action. A receipt for purchasing 50 kg of gold was found from the house of Sabyasachi, who was arrested a few days ago. Only after this the search operation started.
