Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed deep grief over the extensive damage caused by powerful earthquakes in Venezuela, extending India’s condolences to the affected people and offering full support for ongoing relief and recovery efforts.
In a post on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister conveyed his sympathies on behalf of the people of India to the government and citizens of Venezuela, especially to those families who lost their loved ones in the disaster.
“Deeply saddened by the devastation caused by the severe earthquakes in Venezuela,” Modi said.
“On behalf of the people of India, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Venezuela, especially to the families who have lost their loved ones. We pray for the speedy recovery of those injured and stand in solidarity with all those affected during this difficult time,” he added.
The Prime Minister further reiterated India’s readiness to assist Venezuela in dealing with the aftermath of the disaster.
“India stands ready to extend all possible assistance,” he stated.
The statement comes amid reports of widespread destruction and casualties after a series of strong earthquakes struck parts of Venezuela, disrupting daily life and affecting multiple communities. Rescue and relief operations are currently underway as authorities assess damage and work to support those impacted.
India has consistently provided humanitarian aid and disaster relief to countries affected by natural calamities, including earthquakes, floods, and cyclones, reinforcing its commitment to global solidarity and cooperation.
