Luka Vuskovic is rapidly emerging as one of the most sought-after defensive prospects in this summer’s transfer market, with both Liverpool and Manchester United expected to keep a close watch on his situation. The Croatian centre-back impressed significantly during his loan spell at Hamburg, where his strong physical presence, aerial dominance, and goal-scoring ability enhanced his reputation as one of Europe’s most promising young defenders.

His future at Tottenham Hotspur remains uncertain, particularly after reports from Sky Sports indicated that Brighton & Hove Albion had submitted an improved £45 million offer for the teenager.

Sources close to the agents’ network have informed that Tottenham value Vuskovic at over £60 million. With his contract running until 2030, Spurs are under no immediate pressure to sell and are unlikely to accept a low offer.

For Liverpool, this is exactly the kind of opportunity that deserves attention. The Reds are currently assessing their long-term defensive options as Virgil van Dijk is no longer considered a long-term solution, and there are ongoing discussions about how the backline will evolve over the coming seasons.

According to reports from Get German Football News, Liverpool have already been monitoring Vuskovic, which aligns well with their strategy. The young defender’s aggressive style, aerial command, and experience in a top European league make him an attractive target for the Merseyside club.

Manchester United, too, must remain alert in this race. Despite investing heavily in defenders in recent transfer windows, the Red Devils still need to put in place a long-term plan for their central defence. If Vuskovic becomes available, even at a premium price, he fits the mould of a player capable of developing into a top Premier League defender.

The challenge for United lies in acting quickly before other major clubs such as Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, or Barcelona intensify their interest. While both English giants could benefit from signing the young Croatian, Liverpool appear to have a clearer need for a player of his profile. Vuskovic could be integrated into a defensive rebuild without the immediate pressure of carrying the team.

Manchester United would be wise to monitor the situation closely, but Liverpool’s current defensive transition makes them more likely to push aggressively for his signature.
