There is an important news for the employees. If any of your PF work is pending, then handle it immediately. Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is going to close its online claim portal for four days from June 26. This decision has been taken as part of a major system upgrade. Although EPFO has not officially said that this interruption is due to the launch of EPFO 3.0, but it is believed that its timing is exactly to the same digital transformation under which withdrawal of PF through UPI and claim settlement is expected to be done very fast in the coming days.
According to the notice issued on the member portal of EPFO, the work of submitting new claims and processing of old claims will be completely closed from 12:00 pm on 26th June to 23:59 pm on 29th June. Online services will resume normally from 12 midnight on 30 June 2026.
EPFO says that this shutdown is being done to strengthen the database and upgrade the software, so that claim processing can be made more secure, faster and easier in future.
EPFO says, ‘To improve services, speed up work and provide a better experience to users, EPFO is upgrading the software of the claim processing system and consolidating the database.’
During this maintenance period, you will not be able to submit any new online claim (like withdrawing or transferring money) on the EPFO portal. No work will be done on the claims already submitted during these four days. They will be processed only after the services resume.
If you are in great need of money or have to make an important transfer, then make your plan keeping this timing in mind. EPFO has apologized for this inconvenience and has appealed to the people to be patient. If you need any help, you can call EPFO’s helpline number 14470.
This entire upgrade is a sign of the arrival of EPFO 3.0, which will make PF tasks very easy. Union Labor and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya recently said that the testing work of UPI based PF withdrawal has been completed and it can be launched soon. After this you will be able to transfer PF money directly to your bank account through UPI. This will result in huge savings in both paperwork and time.
The new platform is expected to have modern facilities like ATM like withdrawal of money, completely paperless claim processing and settlement in minutes.
According to the current rules, to withdraw PF, a request has to be submitted on the portal, KYC verification is done and many times one has to wait for the company’s approval. But the new digital system will automate this entire process so that your work will be done in a jiffy.
