Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has officially given Final Operational Clearance (FOC) to the indigenous Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) system 'Netra'. This announcement was made during a function organized in Bengaluru. After getting the clearance, the 'Netra' system will now be considered completely ready for operational use in the Indian Air Force. This system is capable of detecting and monitoring enemy fighter planes, missiles and other air threats from long distances.

'Netra' AEW&C system has been developed by DRDO with indigenous technology. This aircraft provides radar surveillance, command and control and real-time information while in the air, which significantly increases the combat capability of the Air Force.

Advanced version of Netra will also be included in IAF

Getting the final operational clearance for Netra is an important achievement towards India's indigenous defense technology and self-reliance. In future, advanced version of this system can also be included in the Indian Air Force. This achievement will not only give new strength to the country's indigenous defense programs but will also further strengthen the surveillance and air warning capabilities of the Indian Air Force.
