PNG Connection After LPG Restart: If LPG gas cylinder runs in your house and PNG facility is going to start soon in your area, then this information is important for you. The central government has changed the rules to LPG. Now if a person takes a PNG connection and later goes to live in a place where PNG is not available, he will not need to take a new LPG connection. He will be able to get his old LPG connection reactivated. This change will provide relief to a large number of consumers.

What changed in the rules to LPG?

• The Central Government has implemented the LPG (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Amendment Order 2026 on 25 May 2026.
• The purpose of this new rule is to provide more convenience to people to adopt PNG gas.
• The government wants people to use PNG in areas where it is available.
• Also, if a person later has to go to an area where PNG facility is not available, then he does not have to face the trouble of getting LPG connection again.

Now LPG consumers will have two options

Under the new rule, if a consumer gets a PNG connection in his house, he will have two options. First, he can apply to surrender his LPG connection within 30 days of getting the PNG connection. Secondly, if he feels that in future he may have to go to a place where PNG is not available, he can take a transfer voucher while getting the LPG connection disconnected. With the help of this voucher, he will be able to easily restart his old LPG connection in non-PNG area later.
