In today's corporate life, work is no longer limited to just 9 am to 5 pm. For many people, office work reaches home. Sometimes late night messages from the boss, sometimes emails on holidays, and sometimes the pressure of being available all the time. It is not easy to maintain mental peace in such an environment. Amidst all this, a female employee working at Amazon in Hyderabad shared her experience on social media. After reading this, thousands of employed people are associating themselves with it.

This employee named Deepika posted a video on her Instagram account deepika.not.padukone. In the video, he told about those habits, after giving up which, his professional life can become more balanced and stress free than before. He says that it is better to give priority to your mental peace rather than trying to prove yourself all the time.

How to maintain balance?

Deepika wrote that earlier she thought that being a good employee meant saying yes immediately to every task, responding immediately to every message and being available all the time. But with time he realized that while doing this, a person forgets himself. Now she has set some clear boundaries for herself, due to which she is able to work better and also take care of her mental health.

First of all, she said an important thing that now she does not take pressure to respond immediately to every message. If a message is replied to after some time and it does not affect your work, then it is not necessary to respond immediately to every notification. According to him, keeping an eye on the phone or laptop all the time only increases stress.

Deepika also told that if she already has a lot of work, then she does not accept new work without thinking. Earlier she used to take every responsibility upon herself, but now she agrees to any new project only after seeing her capacity and time. He believes that taking on more work than required neither keeps the quality of work good nor makes a person happy.

Keep yourself away from these habits

Another change he has made in his habits. Now she has stopped giving excessive clarification on small matters. Earlier she used to give long reasons behind any decision or delay, but now she feels that it is not necessary to explain everything in detail. Many times the message can be completed even in few words.

He also stressed on creating a balance between office and private life. Deepika says that as soon as her office hours end, she closes her laptop and tries to leave the work pressure behind. According to him, if office keeps running in the mind all the time then it will be difficult to enjoy personal life. Apart from this, he has also stopped comparing himself with other people. Instead of feeling inferior after seeing someone else's success on social media or in the office, she now focuses on her targets and her progress. He believes that every person's career is different and comparison only increases unnecessary pressure.

Deepika also said that if she does not understand something from her boss or her team, she asks questions without hesitation. Earlier he felt that asking questions would make people consider him less competent, but now he has realized that a question asked at the right time can save many mistakes in the future.

At the end of the post he wrote an important thing. According to her, setting boundaries does not mean that she is avoiding her work or working less hard. Rather, it means that she wants to work more intelligently and in a better way while taking care of her mental health. This video of Deepika quickly went viral on social media. Thousands of people commented that his words reflect the reality of today's corporate environment.
