Told complete account of expenses from rent to children's education

According to the post, he has estimated the rent for a 3 to 4 BHK flat in North Bengaluru to be ₹70 thousand to ₹90 thousand per month. Apart from this, the EMI of the already running villa loan has been kept at ₹ 35 thousand. Household expenses are estimated at ₹ 10 thousand for electricity, water and other utilities, ₹ 25 to ₹ 35 thousand on car lease and petrol, ₹ 25 thousand on domestic help for cleaning the house and cooking. A budget of ₹ 20 thousand has been kept for the child's school fees and other activities, ₹ 30 thousand for groceries for a vegetarian family of four and ₹ 30 thousand for eating out or ordering food online once or twice a week. Apart from this, a plan has also been made to set aside ₹ 40 thousand for shopping and other personal expenses, ₹ 25 thousand every month for travel throughout the year and ₹ 20 thousand for the higher education of the child.

After spending so much, only ₹ 1 lakh will be left.

After adding all these expenses, according to him, only about ₹ 1 lakh will be left every month for regular savings and investments. He also said that he was surprised that around ₹1.5 lakh per month is spent just on essential expenses like rent, domestic help, school and groceries. He asked Reddit users if his budget was realistic or if any major expenses were left to be included. See post below-

What did Reddit users say?

Responding to the post, many users agreed that their budget is quite practical for North Bengaluru. Some people said that the estimates for rent and eating out were a bit high, while the grocery budget of ₹ 30 thousand was considered comfortable for a vegetarian family of four. Some users also reported that their savings were less visible because they had already budgeted for future expenses like travel, child's college funding, and shopping. Many people jokingly said that the biggest challenge in Bengaluru will not be expenditure, but daily traffic.
