How to make Uttapam Recipe

South Indian Dish To make Uttapam, first mix all the chopped vegetables together in a big bowl. Add a pinch of salt and a little sambar masala to this mixture. This will prevent the vegetables from becoming dull.

Now heat a non-stick or iron pan on medium flame on gas. Apply some oil on the pan and clean it with a wet cloth or tissue paper.

After this, pour a tablespoonful of batter in the middle of the pan. Keep in mind, uttapam is not thin like dosa, it is kept a little thick. So do not spread the batter too much, just give it a slight circular shape.

Now immediately after spreading the batter, spread a handful of the prepared vegetable mixture evenly all over it. With the help of a spatula, gently press the vegetables down, so that they set well in the batter and do not fall out while turning.

Now add some oil or butter on the sides and top of the uttapam. Keep the flame low to medium. When the bottom surface becomes light golden and crispy, turn it carefully. Let the vegetables cook lightly from the other side and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Take out the hot uttapam from the pan and sprinkle some podi masala on it and Coconut Spicy Chutney, Serve with tomato-onion curry chutney or hot sambar.
