Moradabad. Political turmoil has intensified in Thakurdwara assembly seat. Elections may come at their own pace, but the public has started preparing the report card of the MLAs in the corridors of social media. Recently, a Facebook poll was conducted by UPUKLive regarding the working style of Samajwadi Party MLA Nawab Jan Khan from Thakurdwara. The question was simple – “How many marks will you give to your MLA from 0 to 10? Also write the reason in the comment.” The people of Thakurdwara were so upset over this one question that the comment box was flooded with statements. A total of 364 people expressed their frank opinion on this, after which the figures and facts that came out have suddenly increased the political heat in the area.

In fact, in this social media survey, the mood of the public appeared completely divided. While a large section of the MLA was extremely unhappy with the functioning of Nawab Jaan Khan, the supporters also sang odes in favor of their leader. If we talk about statistics, then based on the people who gave marks to the MLA on a scale of 0 to 10, the report card of MLA Nawab Jan Khan was very shocking. On an average the MLA gets only 2.9/10 number Have met. However, there was a large population which instead of giving numbers directly called for political change.

Questions raised on development claims, people expressed their anger

The people who gave low marks or gave zero on this Facebook post had good reasons for their displeasure. According to the local people, the condition of the roads in the area is very bad and not much work has been done in the name of development. A user named Arshad Ali even wrote that if there was an option to give a number less than zero, he would have given the same. He supported Mujahid Ali.

At the same time, many people like Devendra Singh and Shakir Pathan launched a scathing attack on the MLA, alleging that he did not know the area, but the MLA had done “only his own development”. Manoj Yadav reminded of the old promises and said that till date the public has got only deception. Making bad roads and distance from the public a big issue, youth like Shubham Singh Rana, Arvind Kumar and Naushad Ansari expressed their displeasure by giving ‘zero’ number to the MLA.

Supporters considered him ‘good-hearted’, described him as an example of Hindu-Muslim unity.

It is not that there were only complaints in the comment box. Fans of MLA Nawab Jaan Khan also took charge and gave him 10 out of 10. Nazir Hussain wrote that if Samajwadi Party has any identity in Thakurdwara, it is only because of Nawab Jaan.

Supporters believe that MLAs are involved in the happiness and sorrow of every section. Praising the MLA, Sher Khan Saheb said that he receives phones, works in the field of education and takes all sections along. Faizan Ansari even claimed that Nawab Jaan will become MLA for the fourth time. Whereas Arif Raza and Chand Khan described him as a good-hearted person and a living example of Hindu-Muslim brotherhood in the area.

Demand to change ticket from SP, eyes fixed on these faces

The most interesting aspect of this survey was that instead of giving numbers, many people started directly advocating for changing the candidate from Samajwadi Party. The people of Thakurdwara are now considering new options also. A strong atmosphere in favor of Mujahid Ali was seen in the comments. Not only this, some local people have also talked about trying faces like Engineer Iqbal Hussain, Haji Salahuddin Mansoori.

In fact, if we analyze these 364 comments closely, it becomes clear that there is a significant anti-incumbency wave in Thakurdwara and the number of people who want change. Mainly bad roads, distance from the public and demand for new faces have emerged as the biggest issues. However, it is too early to say whether the anger or love seen on social media will directly translate into EVM results. But it is certain that this report card has forced MLA Nawab Jan Khan and the think tank of Samajwadi Party to make a new strategy on the ground.
