In a video shared by England Cricket on X, Stokes revealed that this Test match will mark his last as an England player. He expressed his commitment to the team over the years and mentioned he is ready for 'one last trip,' encouraging his teammates to give their utmost effort and finish the series on a high note. Stokes emphasized his desire to conclude his career with pride in the team's performance, before shifting focus back to the match.


'One Last Trip': Stokes' Emotional Farewell to Teammates

Stokes stated, 'I know that over the next two days, this will be my last as your captain and my final days representing England. The reasons for this can wait, but I've had many journeys with this team, and I have one more to complete. I ask everyone to give their all.'


'We still have hard work ahead, and I want to walk off the field knowing that this group has given everything in these last two days. I want everyone to do this not just for me, but for the team and our future. Let's put the emotional side aside and focus on the task at hand,' he added.
