Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the citizens of the country on Sunday. He thanked the citizens for supporting his appeals like reducing fuel consumption and avoiding foreign travel in view of the West Asia crisis. He described the role of public participation in nation-building as essential. PM Modi said that in view of the war-like situation in West Asia, I had said some things to the countrymen. I had told people to avoid buying gold for some time, as far as possible.
PM Modi said that I had appealed to the people not to celebrate holidays abroad and to do carpooling. Friends, I am grateful to every citizen of the country. PM Modi said that he has not only supported my appeal, but he is also actively cooperating in every way. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said these things while addressing the nation in the 135th episode of his monthly radio program 'Mann Ki Baat'.
PM Modi said that many families have also shared posts on social media about postponing their foreign trips and postponing buying gold for weddings. These words of the Prime Minister come after several appeals made earlier this year amid increasing tension in West Asia. In these appeals, he appealed to the citizens to give priority to working from home, reduce fuel consumption, avoid foreign travel for a year, adopt indigenous products, reduce the use of cooking oil, move towards natural farming and ban buying gold.
Referring to the first six months of 2026, the Prime Minister also discussed several important achievements made under the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative. He gave the example of the first flight of the indigenously made C-295 aircraft, which will boost the country's aerospace manufacturing capacity.
Modi said that the country got a big success in the aviation sector in June, when the manufacturing of C-295 aircraft started in India. He said, “40 such aircraft are being manufactured right here in India and this is giving new strength to the MSME and aerospace sector.”
