According to a report from Sky Sport Italia, Massimiliano Allegri is preparing to end his contract with Milan today before being confirmed as the new head coach of Napoli.

Allegri was dismissed at the conclusion of the 2025-26 season after failing to guide the Rossoneri to Champions League qualification.

Although Allegri was removed from his managerial position, he remains under contract with Milan. Therefore, he must finalise an agreement regarding a severance package before officially departing and becoming free to join another club.

With Milan recently restructuring their management team, Sky Sport indicates that Allegri and the new Rossoneri board are expected to finalise their mutual agreement today.

Journalist Matteo Moretto has also confirmed that both parties are set to formalise the termination of their contract “within the next few hours.”

Once Allegri officially ends his association with Milan, he will sign and be introduced as the new manager of Napoli.

Napoli and Allegri reportedly reached an agreement a few weeks ago, with the experienced Italian coach expected to commit to a two-year contract with the Partenopei.
