Tragic Incident in Firozabad: Tree Falls on E-Rickshaw, Five Lives Lost

A heartbreaking incident has emerged from Firozabad district in Uttar Pradesh. On Monday night, a sudden and fierce storm caused a large neem tree to collapse onto a moving e-rickshaw in the Faridha area. This tragic event resulted in the immediate deaths of five passengers aboard the e-rickshaw, while three others sustained serious injuries.


Upon receiving news of the accident, local police and administrative officials rushed to the scene to initiate rescue operations.


Details of the Incident

District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma reported that the e-rickshaw was traveling from Awagarh around 8:30 PM when the strong winds unexpectedly struck, causing the tree to fall on the vehicle on the Prithvipur-Chidrai road. He noted that all eight individuals in the e-rickshaw were trapped under the tree, and police had to remove the tree to rescue them and transport them to a trauma center.


Casualties and Medical Response

At the trauma center, medical staff declared five individuals dead. The deceased have been identified as Gajendra (28), Hresh Pal (59), Vishnu (20), Aman (17), and Ganga Singh (65). Their bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, while the injured are receiving medical treatment.


Compensation for Victims

In response to this tragic event, the district administration has expressed deep condolences and announced compensation for the victims' families. District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma stated that, in accordance with state regulations, each family of the deceased will receive an immediate financial aid of ₹4 lakh from the disaster relief fund. Additionally, strict instructions have been given to doctors for the proper treatment of the injured.
