A school van caught fire in Jhunjhunu, in which about 10 children were traveling. The driver showed wisdom and immediately stopped the car and took out all the children safely. Because of this a major accident was averted. The causes of the fire are being investigated.

A school van carrying about 10 children caught fire in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan on Tuesday morning, but the driver took immediate action and evacuated all the students safely before the fire spread.

Officials said the incident took place near Dhani in Kanchaniya, when the van was carrying eight to 10 children from Kopar towards Singhana. This car belonged to a private playschool in Singhana.

Officials said the driver saw the fire and immediately stopped the car, and then quickly helped all the children out. Due to this quick action no child was injured in the incident.

Soon after the children were taken out, the fire engulfed the van. Local residents gathered at the spot and the fire was later brought under control. The exact cause of the fire is not yet known. More details are awaited.

Earlier, Jaipur Collector Sandesh Nayak had said that the incident took place in a residential area and officials are investigating the exact nature of the items kept inside the premises. Nayak said, "It seems to be a residential area. It seems that some items kept in a small space here caught fire. We are currently gathering facts. Some people are seriously injured and have been referred to SMS Hospital. We have completely brought the situation under control and the fire has been brought under control." (ANI)
