The company has started booking for this new fare from July 1, 2026, on which travel can be done from July 15, 2026.
Often while flying, we are also paying for the check-in baggage which we do not use at all. Keeping this problem of passengers in mind, the airline has launched this 'entry level' fare in the market. Under this new option you can book your ticket at a lower base price. With this, you will be allowed to carry a cabin bag (small bag that you carry with you inside the plane) weighing up to 7 kg. Apart from this, IndiGo will also automatically allot you a seat (auto-assigned seat) at no extra charge.

This new plan completely depends on the passenger's own needs and budget. If you have booked 'Light Fare' at a cheaper price, but later feel that it is necessary to carry check-in baggage, then you can easily choose this option. Apart from this, priority facilities like seat of your choice, in-flight meals or 'Fast Forward' can also be availed. However, for all these additional services you will have to pay separately from your pocket. Passengers can add these features to their tickets by visiting the company's website or directly at the airport up to one hour before the departure of their flight. This rule will be applicable on all domestic as well as international non-stop flights.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that you will get the benefit of this 'Indigo Light' fare only through the direct channels of the airline. That means, to book this cheap ticket, you will have to use Indigo's official website, their mobile app or their contact center only. This special facility is available for one-way, roundtrip and multicity journeys. From children to adults, everyone can take advantage of this option. Apart from this, on this cheap ticket you will also get a chance to earn 'IndiGo BluChip Points', which you will be able to redeem on your future journeys.
Indigo's Chief Strategy Officer Alok Singh shared important information regarding this new product. He says that the company is continuously bringing new products in the market by understanding the changing needs of its customers. 'Indigo Lite' has been specially designed keeping in mind those people who carry light luggage and want to avoid unnecessary expenses. With the addition of this new option, the airline now has many great options in its portfolio ranging from 'Saver', 'Flexi Plus', 'IndiGo Upfront', 'IndiGoStretch' to 'Stretch+'. This gives complete freedom to travelers of every budget to travel as per their convenience.
