Dehradun. Pushkar Singh Dhami government of Uttarakhand has made a huge and historic change in the education system of the state. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has abolished the decades-old Madrassa Board in the state and started ‘Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority’. The government claims that this is the first and historic step in the country to implement the idea of “One Nation-One Education”. During a grand program organized at the Chief Minister’s residence, CM Dhami formally inaugurated this new authority and also handed over new recognition certificates to various minority educational institutions.
Actually, the intention of the Dhami government behind this big decision is to connect the children of minority community with mainstream modern education. During the program, the Chief Minister himself reached among the children and presented them NCERT books. During this, he made it clear that now the future of the children of minority community will not be limited only to religious education, but they will also have modern copy-books and new age skills (skill development) in their hands.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami clearly said that this step has not been taken to hurt the identity, culture or religious traditions of any community. In fact, the government wants every child in the state to remain connected to their cultural and religious roots and also become adept in modern technologies like science, mathematics, computers and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The Chief Minister said that Devbhoomi has always been the land of knowledge and values, hence it is our responsibility that the education system here emerges as a role model for the entire country.
To abolish Madrasa Board and Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority The Chief Minister also took a tough stance on the politics surrounding the formation of the PWD. He clarified that the government’s focus is not on politics, but on the bright future of the children. In the earlier systems, only a few sections could get preference, but now children of all the six notified minority communities of the state will get equal opportunities. This new model will bring transparency in the minority education system and prevent fraud. This authority will not just be an institution for distributing recognition, but will also become a means of training teachers and truly implementing the National Education Policy (NEP-2020).
It is being told that this entire model is based on the principles of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s National Education Policy-2020. Instead of just distributing degrees, the government now wants to connect the youth with employment, startups and digital skilling. Among Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi and all the educationists present in the program, CM Dhami appealed to all the enlightened citizens and religious leaders of the society to strengthen the shoulders of the government in making this new and progressive system successful. In the coming years, this change will prove to give a new and positive direction to the lives of thousands of children in the state.
