Amarnath Yatra 2026 started amidst cheers of Bam-Bam Bhole, first batch left from Jammu

The formal journey to Baba Amarnath Dham located in Jammu and Kashmir has started. Today i.e. on 2nd July, the first batch left from Jammu for Srinagar. This time, the number of youth is quite high among the devotees who have come for the yatra.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the pilgrims of Amarnath Yatra 2026. As soon as these passengers were sent off, cheers of Bam Bam Bhole echoed everywhere. As soon as the Yatra started, the faces of the devotees who came from all over the country lit up.

Amarnath Yatra begins

A flood of devotees coming for Amarnath Yatra is being seen in Jammu, Srinagar and Baltal. The enthusiasm of these devotees is very high and all are excited to have darshan of Baba Barfani. The first group that left today will leave for the holy cave of Baba Barfani on Friday.

This time, preparations have been made on a large scale by the administration for the yatra. More than 70 thousand security forces have been deployed by the central government for security. Jammu Kashmir Police, BSF and Army are also fully prepared. CRPF and Cobra commandos are present to escort the group of passengers on the 300 km Jammu Srinagar National Highway.

Lieutenant Governor’s conversation with devotees

During the commencement of Amarnath Yatra, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha talked to the devotees and took information regarding the arrangements. During this, tremendous enthusiasm was seen among the devotees. Till last evening, more than 5000 devotees had entered the base camp. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha again arrived from the base along with the Chief Secretary and senior administrative officials and police officers. Here he inspected security, health care, registration, langar, drinking water, traffic, cleanliness and other arrangements. If the weather remains favourable, record travel is expected this year.

Getting instant registration

Arrangements for immediate registration have been made available for the devotees who are arriving for Jammu Kashmir Yatra without registration. An immediate registration center has been set up at Tawi Reeve Front in Jammu where a huge crowd is being seen. 7400 tokens were distributed on Wednesday. Of these, 2500 for 2nd July, 2500 for 3rd July and 2400 for July 4 are Tatkal registrations. At the same time, for the convenience of Amarnath pilgrims, instant registration centers and 131 convenience counters have been set up at 40 places from Srinagar Airport to Pantha Chowk.
